Position Summary 

Develop persona analytic tasks requiring implementation, documentation and testing for the Location and Movement team to support development of analytics focused on identities and travel patterns. Identities and travel patterns would be discovered using new analytic techniques on high performance computing (HPC) platforms and data science techniques including machine learning (ML). Analytics will be developed primarily, but not exclusively by leveraging the customer's cloud infrastructure. 

Essential Functions Statements 

The candidate will build a CI/CD pipeline and optimize processes; deploy ML model, using CI/CD framework; monitor processes; and model performance and infrastructure. The candidate will coordinate with other developers, data scientists, ML modelers, and analysts to refine system requirements, develop microservices and perform system administration duties as required. The candidate will develop automated workflows to ingest and update complex transaction records to support stateful summarized events for follow-on analysis to be performed.

Competency Statements

The developer shall possess the necessary skills required to design a new system / environment within HPC for commercial air travel data modeling and prototype analytics. This is a senior level position utilizing a combination of Dev/Ops and development skills to set up CI/CD pipelines. Close collaboration with other developers and customers is required. Candidate must be able to work in a team environment.

Supervisory ResponsibilityThis role has no supervisory responsibilities. 

Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

Physical DemandsThis is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical abilities may be required. 

Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.

TravelTravel requirements are N/A Required Education, Experience and CertificatesA bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a related discipline may be substituted for four years of general experience. A master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline, may be substituted for an additional two years of general experience.

Experience: 

•At least 16 years of general experience in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline.

•At least 5 years of experience in software-intensive projects and programs for government or industry customers.

•At least 5 years of the experience must have been as a software engineer supporting software architecture development, requirement analysis, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools, and integration (with both new and existing systems).

Certificates and Licenses: 

• Valid Driver’s License 
• COVID-19 Vaccination Card

Computer Skills: HPC, Java, Spark, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools and experience. Preferred Education, Experience and Certificates

Experience: 

•Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Spark and running Spark clusters is strongly preferred.

•Familiarity with development environments, such as MACHINESHOP, Jupyter Notebook and LABBENCH.

•Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience developing in an HPC environment with specific experience in scripting (bash, python), docker, Kubernetes, neo4j, Ansible or Terraform.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Products
