The Opportunity
The Social Media Account Manager (SMAM) role at Method Communications is responsible for executing communications strategies across a broad range of client accounts. This role is an active team member responsible for monitoring trends and opportunities to further our client’s communication objectives. With a focus on social media, attention to creating compelling content and understanding the best channels to get your client’s story out to the world is also critical. The SMAM will act as a partner and mentor to junior staff and play a strong supporting role to Senior Account Executives and upper management. The ability to think strategically about content, optimization, audience growth and other key factors of a social media program must be demonstrated for success.

Responsibilities
Account/Brand Management
  • Manage personal assignments and own daily account management with superior organizational ability
  • Have a keen eye for junior staffers’ ability to handle their roles and responsibilities
  • Ensure timely responses to clients and followers’ queries and comments
  • Ability to direct monthly client priorities and help clients achieve social media and marketing goals (is results oriented)
Social media management
  • Proficiency in writing social media copy, content planning and the utilization of social media tools and industry best practices
  • Growth: Explore how emerging social networks and features can benefit our clients and make recommendations to MS management
  • Management: Manage multiple social media accounts (content, community engagement, and measurement as appropriate) and effectively prioritize work.
  • Client management: Present results, recommendations, and trends to clients confidently and with authority; can serve as a domain expert and can explain the core concepts of social media (and its best practices) to non-experts.
  • Support Method’s social media channels, leveraging our brand guidelines to help build our profile nationally and in hub markets as well as in tech PR and marketing communities
Business development
  • Eager to learn and willing to jump in on new projects that will provide learning opportunities (i.e. managing paid social, working with influencers, performing B2B social audits)
  • Collaborates with agency partners in new business development planning and RFPs and actively participates in new business pitches as needed
  • Leverage social research tools to develop insights from social listening for new business pitches - finding, interpreting, and simplifying results for clients without industry jargon.
Agency Leadership
  • Advocate for and educate non-experts on social media internal relationship building and agency training (formal and informal); provide roadmaps for upselling social media to PR teams as appropriate.
  • Deliver constructive feedback when necessary to all levels of staff to ensure the correct action is taken
  • Have a strong, positive presence within the agency
  • Works collaboratively with the social team and content teams to garner the best possible outcomes for our clients

What We’re Looking For
  • 3 years experience in social media at an agency
  • Background and/or demonstrated interest in emerging technologies, and ability to work across multiple, diverse industries
  • Demonstrated ability to develop insights from social listening and its tools (Spredfast, Sprout, Sysomos, Brandwatch, etc.)
  • Firm understanding of all major social platforms, including best practices, general platform policies, and user behavior trends (Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, TikTok)
  • Detailed understanding of social analytics across channels - how to find, interpret, and simplify results for clients without industry jargon
  • Ability to communicate professionally on a daily basis with client leads and internal team members and management team
  • Has active accounts (personal or managed for clients) across social media channels
  • Collaborative, team-oriented individual with a big-picture mindset
  • Passion for work and commitment to developing skills and helping team members learn on a daily basis
  • A strong collaborator and teammate, supporting client leads to help Method succeed with our clients. Open to receiving feedback and willing to help where needed
  • Understands the PESO model and how social works within it and supports it
  • Understand the basic tenets of SEO
  • Possesses the ability to think critically, plan, and execute resourcefully, across multiple tasks

Salary Ranges
We believe all employees should be rewarded competitively and equitably, using practices that are simple and transparent. We’ve provided the following salary ranges for the locations we operate in below due to their state regulations. If your market is not listed below, your specific salary band will be discussed during the recruitment process. Final compensation for this role will be determined by a number of factors including the candidate’s education, relevant work experience and geographic location.
  • State of Colorado: $52,999 - $68,360
  • State of New York: $56,671 - $66,270
  • New York City: $66,270 - $76,808
  • State of California: $51,241 - $70,839
  • State of Washington: $58,246 - $66,650

Work Arrangement
The role can be performed fully remotely in the United States or hybrid if near a hub office in San Francisco, Salt Lake City, or New York City. This role is open to candidates in the following states: AL, CA, CO, CT, GA, IL, KS, MA, MD, ME, NJ, NM, NY, OR, SC, TX, UT, VA, and WA.
