MetaPhase Consulting is seeking a physical security specialist to support the US Marshals Service (USMS) with administering the design, installation, and maintenance of technical and physical security systems for the Judicial Security Division. Our team administer security projects nationwide to identify, analyze, and mitigate security risks. Our ideal candidate is a natural problem solver with extensive experience in the security. 

Basic Qualifications (Required)

• At least 2 years of experience required; additional academic achievements preferred 
• Knowledge of electronics, computer-aided design (CAD), security systems, industry best practices, and logistics processes
• General skills in project management, team building, client support, and communications (oral and written) 
• Ability to move heavy objects that may be oversized and weigh >50 lbs 
• Color vision required 
• Experience with judicial security systems preferred 
• Independently-driven time management, organization, and prioritization skills with the ability to work in a team setting 

Essential Responsibilities

• Administer security projects nationwide.
• Assist with and/or perform technical surveys, system specifications, and recommend measures to ensure safe proceedings in judiciary facilities and to reduce the prospect of security risks. 
• Identify security risks, analyze and manage those risks, and specify system requirements and procedural measures to ensure a safe working environment at USMS and Judicial facilities. 
• Conduct evaluations of security designs and inspections and compare security equipment designs to established standards. 
• Ensure vehicle barriers, X-ray machines, walk-through metal detectors, and other technical security systems are fully operational. 
• Evaluate a wide variety of equipment, systems, and products for security vulnerabilities and conduct operational testing of security systems;. 
• Use CAD or equivalent software to create detailed 2D or 3D designs for complex projects.
• Help guide equipment and material logistics – shipping, receiving, Bill-of-Materials (BOM) preparation – and equipment inventory. 
• Organize workshops, shop tools, equipment, parts, and supplies. 
• Test new-generation technical security equipment. 
• Train security personnel as required. 
• Produce a variety of written documents including well-crafted memoranda, trip reports, email communications, security surveys or technical reports detailing specific services planned or performed. 

Work Location 

Mostly remote due to travel 

When not traveling, hybrid work location with occasional on-site work at US Marshals Service Headquarters (Arlington, VA)

Extensive travel to various sites 

Tolerance of travel and varying work environments required 

Education Level 

Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred 

Clearance Level 

Ability to get Public Trust 

U.S. Citizenship required (NO EXCEPTIONS)
