Job Overview:
The CSR is responsible for playing an active inside sales role, working as a team with fellow CSR’s and operations staff, to ensure customer requests are professionally addressed in an expeditious manner. You’ll spend the day on your feet, moving between our customer service counter, the office, and the shop floor. Orders and inquiries are received via phone, email and walk-ins. You’ll consult with trade professionals and do-it-your-selfers, assisting in their material needs and working to find solutions. Sourcing and procurement of materials from our supply chain as well as project management on larger orders is included within these inside sales responsibilities. In addition, this role is responsible for growing sales through strategic business development initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Promptly answers inbound calls and emails and responds with written and verbal sales quotations
- Engage with customers to provide information about products and services
- Offers advice and solutions to customer requests using metal expertise, then follows up and closes the sale
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently
- Works with current suppliers on cost effective material purchases and finds sources for unusual material requests
- Promotes excellence in all aspects of the customer service experience
- Executes ongoing business development and sales growth strategies
Skills:
- Proven successful prior inside sales experience preferably with industrial products
- Demonstrated experience in growing sales and developing customer relationships
- Positive personality with great interpersonal skills used to deliver exceptional customer service
- Fluent in written and spoken English including exceptional telephone skills and etiquette
- Bilingual in Spanish is advantageous
- Experience with or understanding of metal products and the metal distribution industry would be helpful
- Strong basic math skills and the ability to understand diagrams and dimensional drawings
- Highly articulate, professional and precise in both verbal and written communication
- Experience with and understanding of computer business systems and office PC applications
- Strong business acumen
