Meta is looking for a Communications Manager to join its Business and Engineering Communications Team. This role will provide communications support for Meta’s global infrastructure, engineering and innovation efforts across our global portfolio including data centers, hardware and software systems, custom silicon and networking. Meta has built generations of industry-leading infrastructure at scale and is now focusing its efforts on systems that will support AI workloads. In this role, you will work with engineers and cross functional partners to identify opportunities to show Meta’s leadership in this area. You will develop comprehensive communications plans that include press outreach, social media and editorial content and find creative ways to strengthen our narrative. The ideal candidate will excel at working in a fast-paced environment, be an excellent writer, and enjoy working on AI, infrastructure and engineering innovation. A strategic, creative and resourceful communicator, able to manage multiple high-level projects simultaneously while remaining flexible will do well in this position. Experience and interest in engineering concepts and tech innovation with the ability to distill complex, technical detail into information that is easily understood is essential. They should be passionate about the services we provide and the people that we serve.

Communications Manager, Engineering Responsibilities:

• Build relationships with engineering teams to identify potential opportunities that highlight Meta’s leadership in AI infrastructure and engineering
• Lead the development of technical content for Meta’s engineering blog in close partnership with our editorial team
• Develop strategic communications plans for announcements and tentpole moments from concept to execution
• Help organize press briefings, media sessions and events
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and work cross-functionally with multiple partners
• Develop impactful speeches, talking points, social media content and other written materials for various executives and spokespeople
• Help executives and team members prepare for media interviews and speeches
• Navigate and respond nimbly and strategically to media inbound inquiries

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Communications, English, Computer Science, Journalism or related field
• 5 years of work experience in communications, journalism or public relations
• Experience translating technical concepts for broader audiences
• Experience quickly grasping new technical concepts
• Knowledge and interest in: artificial intelligence (including models, chips, and other AI hardware innovations), engineering concepts related to data centers and hardware/software, and tech innovation as a whole.
• Demonstrated writing and editing skills
• Experience working with media to shape stories and drive coverage
• Experience in working with executives and providing communications counsel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing content for social media channels
