Merrimac Industrial Sales is Hiring a Remote Inside Sales Representative

About Us:

Merrimac Industrial Sales is New England's Premier Distributor of Electrical Heating Equipment, Industrial Process Controls and Custom-Engineered Control Systems. Established in 1978, we offer a wide variety of heating, controlling and sensing solutions for customers in alternative energy, bio-medical, plastics, high-tech, food and beverage, automotive, textiles, wastewater treatment, and other industries.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an Inside Salesperson with distribution experience in the Electrical and Heating Equipment Industry. This position requires heavy phone / email customer interaction, order entry, quoting, purchasing, and expediting orders.

Job/Candidate Requirements:

  • 3 years of inside sales / customer service distribution experience in the electrical / heating industry
  • Ability to read detailed documents such as specifications and equipment schedules
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and working knowledge of a CRM database
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels both internally and externally
  • Top-rate organizational skills - ability to multi-task and manage tasks effectively in fast paced environment
  • Highly competitive and motivated Solid understanding of sales metrics
  • Creativity and an ability to convey and sell new ideas
  • Strong negotiation skills are preferred

Responsibilities Include (But Are Not Limited To):

  • Order entry
  • Obtaining quotes from vendors, checking price and delivery, including special pricing
  • Quoting customers
  • Handling customer return process
  • Expediting Orders
  • Purchasing Parts
  • Updating the CRM Database
  • Performing research as needed
  • Customer follow-up
  • Participation in onsite channel partner seminars
