Merric Millwork and Seating is Hiring a Director of Project Management Near Fallon, MO

Merric takes great pride in delivering high-quality, custom-crafted products on time, every time, to its customers in the restaurant, hotel, hospitality, casino, and healthcare industries, among others.

The Project Director will organize, manage, and plan projects for Merric Millwork & Seating. They will oversee projects with senior managers, sales, estimating, and engineering to ensure that all the customers' expectations are in line with our company policies and goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees a team of Project Managers to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications.
  • Delegates work and assignments to team members based on expertise, work experience, and time constraints.
  • Provide onsite leadership for the project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
  • Monitor staff performance and complete performance reviews.
  • Ultimately, the Project Director is responsible for the overall direction, management and financial outcome of their projects.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Full project life cycle ownership. Successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment.
  • Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test, and deployment management activities
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
  • Assist project staff in development of project schedule and monitor schedule performance, looking for ways to improve/expedite
  • Become thoroughly knowledgeable of projected costs, contingent liabilities and contingent savings/increased profits
  • Establish/maintain good relationships with owner, design team and subcontractors
  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization.
  • Oversee quality management program to achieve contract compliance and a quality project
  • Assist in dispute, negotiation, arbitration, or litigation, as needed.
  • Develop and manage all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks, and issues.
  • Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
  • Deliver appropriate and effective executive level communication.
  • Recommend self-improvement programs that may assist employees in their professional/personal development

Experience Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of intricate commercial construction principles/practices required
  • 8 years progressive experience in construction management for a large-scale general contractor
  • Experience leading multiple successful project teams, including development of direct reports and maintaining relationships with external entities
  • Experienced dealing with subcontracts and subcontractors
  • Excellent organizational, team management, problem-solving and motivational skills

Travel 15-20%
