Head of Procurement - Fixed-Term 12 month ContractOrlando, Florida

We are looking for a Head of Procurement to join our Group Procurement team. This role will be based at our Orlando Hub ideally, but a flexible US location can be agreed for the right candidate. This role reports to the Group Procurement Director on a 12 month fixed-term contract. 

About the Role...

• Implement best procurement practices to enhance cost, quality, and service outcomes for Merlin.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and execute plans aligned with agreed targets and recommend strategies for key categories to capitalize on Merlin's scale.
• Secure buy-in, foster synergies, and acquire in-depth knowledge of the supply market for relevant categories/regions.
• Manage high-value supply contracts through tendering, negotiation, and renewal, leveraging the company's scale.
• Handle contract management in collaboration with internal and external legal counsel
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency, including supplier consolidation and system improvements.
• Support resolving supplier performance issues through effective service level agreements, and champion environmental initiatives and ethical sourcing.

Qualifications & Experience

About You...

• Extensive procurement experience. A degree in Business or related discipline, as well as professional procurement certification(s) is a plus.
• Broad category knowledge across direct and indirect categories
• Experience of working in the leisure and entertainment industry is a plus.
• Excellent quantitative and data analysis skills
• Comfortable with ambiguity, able to operate independently with limited direction.
• Strong project management and process improvement skills
• Excellent communication, presentation skills and negotiation skills
• Not afraid to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in!
