Mercy Medical Center - Cedar Rapids is Hiring a Supervisor, Revenue Cycle Near Rapids, IA

This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by ensuring the patient's medical record is an accurate reflection of their medical condition and the services provided by Mercy Medical Center.
Job Duties/Essential Functions

  • Analyzes problems systematically and logically and is resourceful when developing and implementing solutions.

  • Develops and implements work plans with actionable components and measurable outcomes. Proactively monitors key performance indicators and makes real-time adjustments to ensure that progress stays on track.

  • Provides regular updates on goal progress and works with own manager to minimize risks and resolve problems.
Job Duties
  • Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job- specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.

Department Specific Duties
  • Supervise CDI, Utilization Management, and Audit teams.
  • Develop and monitor Key Performance indicators for CDI, Utilization Management, and Aduit teams.
  • Maintain Policy and Procedures.
  • Lead regular staff and provider education sessions based on audit trends and/or Regulatory Compliance.
  • Adhere to all federal, state and Mercy Medical Center policies relating to medical records.
  • Educate and formulate training of all new employees.
  • Cover for Manager, Revenue Cycle during absences.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficient in operation of computer, calculator, filing systems, copy/fax machines and telephone system.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work with minimal to no supervision.
  • Knowledge of Medicare Part A.
  • Familiar with Medicare Part B.
  • Knowledge of regulatory environment.
  • Understand and communicate differences between Medicare Part A and Part B Guidelines.
Professional Experience
  • Required: 
    • Minimum two years acute care or equivalent clinical setting experience.
    • Minimum three years Clinical Documentation experience.
  • Preferred:
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or other health related degree.
Education
  • RN required.
  • BSN preferred.
Licensure, Certification, Registration
  • Required: Maintain current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Iowa
  • Preferred: Certification as a Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS)
Physical Demand Requirements
  • Light: Exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently
