Mental Health Office is Hiring a Clinical Director, Psychiatric Center, South Beach Psychiatric Center, Clinical Director, P24302 Near Staten Island, NY

To be eligible Candidates must be:
1. License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State or a New York State limited permit and licensure in another state or Canada;
AND
2. Certification in Psychiatry issued by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or equivalent certifying body;
AND
3. Seven years of experience providing services to people diagnosed with mental illness, two years of which must have included supervising physicians and other clinical staff responsible for the delivery of treatment services; providing direction to staff regarding program objectives and the implementation of policy; and providing guidance to various clinical specialists.

Duties Description

The Clinical Director serves as the Chief Medical Officer of SBPC. The Clinical Director is responsible for the administration, oversight, evaluation, and continuous improvement of all psychiatric, medical, and contracted medical services provided by staff and consultants of the psychiatric center. The Clinical Director participates in overall executive management and strategic plan development. The Clinical Director supervises the credentialing and privileging process of clinicians, and has primary responsibility for developing, updating, and implementing clinical policies and procedures and together with the other members of the Executive Cabinet, ensures that SBPC is in compliance with all Office of Mental Health (OMH), Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS), The Joint Commission (TJC) and other external accrediting bodies’ standards, rules and regulations. Ultimately, the Clinical Director ensures that the clinical mission of the facility is successfully aligned with the overall mission of OMH to promote the mental health and well-being of all New Yorkers so that they can reach their ultimate goal of recovery. Applicants should be knowledgeable in recovery-oriented care, transitions of care across the inpatient-outpatient continuum, have familiarity with academic affiliations, and have an interest in implementing innovative best practices.

SBPC recently completed construction on a brand-new, modern $250 million inpatient facility located in State Island, NY. SBPC offers a comprehensive continuum of behavioral health services to adults with serious mental illness and children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances living in Brooklyn and Staten Island. In addition to Joint Commission accreditation, SBPC is a teaching site for psychiatry residents from Richmond University Medical Center and New York University (NYU).
SBPC provides recovery-oriented and patient-centered behavioral health treatment to 3,500 individuals.
Their inpatient facility provides care to approximately 335 patients including units devoted to children and adolescents and medically complex patients. SBPC’s network of community services is comprised of Transitional Living Residences, outpatient clinics in Brooklyn and Staten Island, Children and Youth Day Treatment, MIT and ACT teams and specialized treatment programs serving LGBTQ clients and Limited English Proficiency (LEP) patients.
SBPC partnered with New York State Psychiatric Institute and Columbia University to build OnTrackNY, a first-in-the-nation mental health treatment program for individuals between ages 18-30 that have experienced first episode psychosis.
