Job Description: Help Center Program Director Salary Range: $62,400 - $67,000

Summary
The Help Center Program Director is responsible for overseeing the Robin Hood Benefits Access and Navigator programs out of Project Hospitality’s Help Centers, rendering excellent client services, supervising staff, and providing fiscal and programmatic oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the two Help Centers and other program locations.
  • Render excellent direct services to clients, including but not limited to:
    - Public benefits eligibility screenings.
    Enrollment and recertification in all public benefits as well as case updates and mediation (SNAP, TANF, WIC, HEAP, Fair Fares, SCRIE/DRI, SSI/SSD, Section 8, One Shot Deal, HRA burial assistance, etc). Enrollment and recertification in health insurance plans and sliding scale options (Medicaid, emergency Medicaid, NYSOH qualified plans, Child Health Plus, NYC Care etc).Emergency cash grant applications.Domestic violence intervention services and referrals.
    Housing Connect profiles and affordable housing lottery submissions.
    Document assistance and advocacy.
    Referrals for legal services, mental and behavioral health care, senior services, shelter, and other internal and external referrals.
    Ensure clients are connected to Project Hospitality’s full continuum of care as needed.
  • Provide regular, direct supervision to the program’s entitlements specialists, health insurance navigators, and help center associates. Foster a positive culture in the division to further ongoing quality improvement and excellent client care.
  • Ensure programs are on track to meet their contract goals and that reports are submitted on time. Attend funder meetings.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the needs of the programs during budget preparation and then implement the program budgets as approved. Continuously monitor all expenses and revenues.
  • Ensure the quality of the program’s data collection systems and work toward greater efficiency and accuracy in data collection and reporting.
  • Attend external meetings and engage in coalition-building and advocacy work to further the mission of the agency and strengthen Project Hospitality’s reputation in the community.

Qualifications


Qualifications

  • Must be bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
  • Preference will be given to a candidate with a Master’s in Social Work or a comparable degree.
  • Prior experience in the human services field is required. Preference will be given to a candidate experienced in public benefits enrollment and/or health insurance navigation.
  • Supervisory and program management experience preferred.
  • Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • The job will require completing training to become a certified navigator through the New York State of Health.
