Calling all Counselors seeking employment!!

Our organization is looking for driven individuals with a calling to help adults with mental illness by becoming a Residential Counselor. Looking for Part-time weekend hours.

Residence Counselors are dedicated to promote greater independence and supporting our residents by:

• Implementing nutritional component, including shopping, menu planning, and food preparation/clean-up and when necessary, dietary needs.

• Supporting resident’s compliance with treatment plans, including medical, psychiatric, dental, socialization and activities program.

• Managing crises and emergency situations with guidance form the Residence Supervisor.

• Assisting with monthly fire drills and insure compliance with all fire and safety procedures.

• Implementing activities and recreation program.

• Assisting residents with maintenance and upkeep of house and grounds.

• Documenting and encourage resident’s progress.

• Implementing resident’s individual service plans as assigned by Residence Supervisor, to include regular meetings with residents regarding goals, progress, and problems.

Requirements

Ideal candidates are looking to make a difference and possess the following qualifications:

• High School degree with at least 4 years’ experience in a community residence or an Associate’s degree with at least two years’ experience in community residence or similar setting. • Excellent inter-personal skills, high awareness of self and others, with an understanding of individuals in a mental health environment. • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (word) and basic data entry.• Clean Driver’s license required.
