Job Overview

The Director of Nursing is a member of MedStar Health entity-based Division of Nursing's (DON) leadership/management team and is responsible for the adult inpatient psychiatric unit and psychiatric crisis stabilization unit of organized nursing and patient care services.

Adult Inpatient Psychiatric Unit Overview

36-bed acute adult inpatient psychiatry beds spread across two units of 24 and 12 beds, respectively

Evidenced-based mental health treatment

Hospital-based Protection Services (Security) Department.

Psychiatric Emergency Department Crisis Unit Overview:

Ability to take up to 10-patients, including adult, adolescent, and pediatric patients

Provide therapeutic milieu and treatment until patients are appropriately dispositioned
