RN - Emergency Room/Med/Surg/Progressive Care (PCU) / Float (Nights) Shift Type: Nights Hours/Day: 12 Shift Notes: 12hr Nights 36 hours guaranteed weekly Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend On-Call Requirements: None Hourly Range: $31.00 - $43.00 (based on years of experience) Salary Range: $64,480 - $89,440 (based on 40 hour work week)

Resource RN
Position Summary: Provides professional nursing care within the department assigned; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care. Determines priorities of care based on the physical and psychosocial needs of patients, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with physicians regarding changes in patient status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Essential Functions:
Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes: pediatric, geriatric, and the general patient population.
Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
Ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient's response to treatment and evaluate the overall plan daily for effectiveness.
Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for the patient's age.
Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on the age of the patient and their clinical condition.
Follows the SIX (6) medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors.
Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates the effectiveness of learning, family is included in teaching as appropriate.
Demonstrates an ability to assist physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.
Demonstrates ability to perform treatments and provide services to level licensure.
Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring, identifies dysrhythmias, and treats appropriately based upon ACLS protocol.
Ability to monitor the hemodynamic status of a patient and correctly interpret the results
Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care, revise the plan as indicated by the patient's response to treatment, and evaluate the overall plan daily for effectiveness.
Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates the effectiveness of learning, family is included in teaching asappropriate.
Provides care to patients with compromised nutritional/metabolic status.
Provides care to patients requiring extensive fluid and electrolyte management.
Communicates appropriately and clearly to charge nurses, co-workers, and physicians.
Consult other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient's needs.
Demonstrates an ability to assist physicians with procedures both in the PCU and other departments.
Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, and organized and function well under stressful situations.
Other duties as assigned
This is a very small unit/facility, rural experience is required. Must be able to work independently/Hit the ground running!

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
2 years experience -Required
MUST BE WILLING TO FLOAT - THIS IS A FLOAT POSITION!
Must be willing to jump in as needed where/when needed as a "Resource!"
High proficiency in both ED and MS/PCU required
Experience with MS, ED, and PCU/MS required
Must be willing to be assigned to a Unit and/or do transfers, admissions, etc
