Responsibilities :

• Verify insurance eligibility, process referrals and authorizations
• Assist patient, manage phones, and schedule patient appointments
• Assist doctors with procedures
• Room and check patient vitals
• Update EMR system
• Handle pharmacy requests
• Perform EKG S, injections and blood draws

Qualifications :

• Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate
• High School Diploma or GED
• Active CPR / BLS certificate
• 6 months experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant (preferred)
• 6 months experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Office Receptionist (preferred)
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
• Medical terminology
• Familiarity with CPT and IDC-9 coding procedures
