Position Summary
Agency seeking an experienced DON with at least 1 year experience in hospice management.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the nursing department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate and optimize patient care.
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing programs and make necessary adjustments for improvement.
- Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping of patient information.
- Manage budgets and resources to meet the needs of the nursing department.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in nursing administration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or ADN;
- Valid nursing license in the state of employment.
- Proven experience in nursing administration, preferably in hospice care.
- Strong knowledge of Medicare regulations and reimbursement systems.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Experience with shift management and scheduling.
Monitors and analyzes QAPI issues and directs clinical staff about agency policy and procedures.
