Position Overview:

Med Supply US is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented DME (Durable Medical Equipment) Medical Records Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical records management, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of regulatory compliance related to medical documentation. As a DME Medical Records Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate and compliant patient records for our continuous glucose monitor and catheter customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Medical Records Management:
  • Maintain and organize patient medical records in accordance with established protocols.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of all medical records.
  • Review and verify incoming medical records for completeness and compliance.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations governing medical records and patient privacy (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Ensure that all medical records are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Data Entry and Documentation:
  • Accurately enter patient information into electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Maintain digital and physical filing systems for medical records.
  • Prepare and maintain records for audits and inspections.
Communication and Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, and internal teams to ensure the accuracy and availability of medical records.
  • Respond to requests for medical records in a timely and professional manner.
Quality Assurance:
  • Conduct regular audits to identify and rectify errors or discrepancies in medical records.
  • Work to improve record-keeping processes and ensure data integrity.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in medical records management is a plus.
  • Proven experience in medical records management, preferably in a healthcare or DME setting.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards, including HIPAA.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
