Position Summary

As ourVice President, Engineering and Construction, you will be part of our central office working on a wide range of projects nationwide. We are seeking a Vice President of Engineering and Construction with 10 years of experience in the engineering and construction fields to help lead our Company growth and direction.

Typical responsibilities

    Manage consultant engineering design professionals and provide engineering oversight.
  • Lead the preparation and review of engineering and associated construction documents.
  • Direct the preparation and review of calculations and designs for engineering systems and detailed drawings.
  • Analyze design requirements, specifications, and performance requirements.
  • Oversee consultant engineering professionals in the land acquisition due diligence processes. Coordinate and review due diligence.
  • Assist in preparation and review of site development documents.
  • Interface/coordinate with other professional disciplines.
  • Manage fees, scope, and schedule requirements.
  • Responsible for the technical accuracy and completeness of engineering documentation.
  • Undertake constructability analyses and reviews.
  • Support sustainability objectives, methods, and technologies.
  • Coordinate with purchasing material takeoffs and estimates for use in design processes.
  • Conduct due diligence on business initiatives.
  • Assist in contract negotiations.
  • Assist in governmental relations.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
  • 10 years of design and construction experience with supervisory experience in project management.
  • Experience in commercial or residential design and construction.
  • Prior site development experience preferred.
  • Prior due diligence experience.
  • Proficiency with codes and standards relevant to engineering design and building construction as well as material specific design codes.
  • Sustainability methods and technologies experience.
  • High degree of competence and understanding of building materials, techniques, and processes.
  • Previous experience working with quantity surveying and estimating methods along with procurement experience.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive in addressing problem issues, presenting, and implementing solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $190,000- $220,000
  • FLSA Status: Exempt
  • Bonus Type: Year-end Discretionary
