MD Logistics Inc is Hiring a Project Manager Near Plainfield, IN

Position Overview:

As a Project Manager in our 3PL organization, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives, overseeing critical projects, and ensuring operational excellence. Your responsibilities will span various areas, including managing company growth projects, facility upgrades, capital budget allocation, and continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Company Growth Projects:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and oversee growth-related projects and develop project plans.
    • Lead the execution of expansion projects, including new warehouse facilities, warehouse upgrades, and vital infrastructure improvements.
    • Develop detailed project schedules and track accordingly.
    • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure timely completion.
  • Facility Upgrades:
    • Evaluate existing facilities and recommend upgrades or modifications to enhance efficiency, safety, and capacity.
    • Coordinate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to implement facility improvements.
    • Manage contractors, budgets, and timelines for facility enhancement projects.
    • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
  • Capital Budget Management:
    • Work closely with finance and executive leadership to allocate capital funds effectively.
    • Develop detailed project budgets, considering costs for equipment, infrastructure, and technology.
    • Monitor spending, track variances, and report on budget performance.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Champion process improvement initiatives across the organization.
    • Identify bottlenecks, streamline workflows, and enhance operational efficiency.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement best practices and drive positive change.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Regularly communicate project updates, risks, and achievements to senior management via in-person and teleconference meetings.
    • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, ensuring alignment and collaboration.
    • Address any project-related issues promptly and proactively.
  • Risk Management:
    • Assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Monitor external factors (market trends, regulatory changes) that may impact project outcomes.
    • Implement risk controls and contingency plans as needed.
  • Project Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate project documentation, including project charters, schedules, and status reports.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements, including but not limited to; NFPA, OSHA, and local building codes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering Technology, Construction Management or a related field.
  • 3 years of project management experience
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials preferred, not required.
  • Autodesk AutoCAD Experience Preferred
  • Proven experience managing complex projects within the logistics or supply chain industry.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft and Project Tracking Tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
