Description of the Position :

Duties include but are not limited to; Guest Services personnel monitor the overall safety and security for the property.

In addition to regular Guest Services duties this position will also be required to perform alcohol monitoring for the property and help with the food and beverage departments doing dishes and delivering dishes and ice to each bar as needed.

Specifically for the Anderson School, Guest Services will be required to actively monitor the public roadway between hotel and pub and the North Shore Lagoon building.

This position will also help maintain the cleanliness of the property, perform light maintenance work and help with catered events in a customer service capacity as needed.

Besides the night auditor, Guest Services staff are the only employees on property during late night hours. Each Guest Services Staff member is responsible for maintaining and responding to any safety issue that arises, be available to answer questions, and assist customers in whatever way necessary.

Being a Guest Services agent can be hard physical work and requires mental agility and the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast paced and deadline oriented environment.

A Guest Services agent must also have the ability to work well independently and as a member of a team. Each employee will be expected to perform their job in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to Management.

All McMenamin employees will also be expected to keep current on all company events, history, and products. Other duties as assigned by the Manager on duty.

R equirements of the Job :

• Obtain and maintain current MAST 12 certificate and food handlers card
• Previous customer service or related experience preferred
• Excellent conflict resolution and diplomacy skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills

Essential Functions of the Job :

• Provide excellent security and customer service for the Anderson School property
• Communicate clearly with employees and customers
• Alcohol monitoring and crowd control
• Respond quickly and decisively in stressful situations
• Comply with Washington state laws and regulations regarding the serving of alcohol
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a high volume, deadline oriented work environment
• Must have a value for diversity and the ability to work with individuals from different backgrounds
• Work for long periods on feet including frequent walking, stair climbing and working outdoors in varied weather and near fire and smoky conditions as necessary
• Perform repetitive movement such as pushing, pulling, bending, some twisting and stooping
• Maintain a positive attitude as well as be positive, polite, and cooperative with co-workers, managers, and customers and interact well with employees and customers
• Ability to climb stairs
• Safely lift and carry heavy objects with a hand truck or the help of another person if necessary
