Adjuster Position
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ability to read and analyze reports, documents, and data.
- Inspect Property Claims and maintain expected caseload.
- Efficiently partner with co-workers, leadership, and customers via telephone and other means of communication to convey detailed and/or complex information.
- Receive and review claim intake daily.
- Contact insurer, broker, and claimant to arrange appointment for first meeting.
- Investigate and determine the extent of damages on losses up to the assigned threshold.
- Visit insured/risk to investigate cause, circumstances, extent of loss, and damage.
- Ability to maintain diary and respond to stakeholder inquiries in timely and professional fashion.
- Provide local assistance on national accounts when necessary.
- 2-5 years of industry related experience.
- Appropriate state adjuster license(s), as necessary.
- Proficient knowledge of Xactimate or other estimating platforms.
- Knowledge of the independent claims adjusting business.
- Strong communication skills; both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to plan and prioritize.
- Travel to inspection sites (regularly)
- Move about indoors and outdoors to conduct inspections (regularly)
- Ability to position self to inspect confined spaces, ascend and descend stairwells and ladders, traverse roofs, and work atop roofs (frequently)
- Ability to maintain balance while traversing on narrow, slippery, or sloping surfaces. (regularly)
- May exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly while moving objects. (Regularly)
- Transport objects weighing up to or exceeding 50 pounds. (regularly)
- Transport, unfold, and extend OSHA approved ladder which may exceed 50 pounds. (frequently)
- Ability to operate a laptop/computer, phone, other office productivity machinery (calculator, printer, etc.), and measuring devices. (regularly)
- Manual dexterity and coordination to extend hands and arms in various directions, using fingers in repetitive motion for keyboarding and writing. (regularly)
- Handle paperwork and files (regularly)
- May require working in outdoor weather conditions. (Occasionally)
- May require working in stationary position (Occasionally)
