The Insurance Coordinator will administer and manage all claims. The Insurance Coordinator is responsible for reviewing incident reports and claims daily, evaluate and analyze claims data to ensure regulatory compliance and serve as the liaison between claimants, claim adjusters, medical providers and attorneys.

INSURANCE COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide departments with relevant information to reduce workplace injuries and improve safety

Facilitate return-to-work of injured employees using reasonable accommodation programs and medical case management

Ensure managers are aware of accommodations/work restrictions and comply with restricted work duties

Work closely with other departments to analyze trends and develop strategies for prevention

Prepare risk management reports

Enter incidents into the database, report claims to Third Party Administrator, and assist claims analysts with various issues and reporting

Administer and process Risk Management invoice

Assist with occupational safety, loss control, health compliance, OSHA and other Risk Management training, maintain filing system for all cases

Acts as the liaison to attorneys, insurance companies, and individuals (internal/external).

Investigates any incidents that may result in an asset loss. Adheres to department budget.

Attends and/or assists with worker’s compensation hearings

Assesses all incidents and claims issues and seeks potential opportunities to resolve them.

Ensures compliance with OSHA-related occupational health reports

Interacts extensively with various parties involved with the claim management process

Documents and communicates all claim activity timely and in a manner

Other projects/ tasks as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of Associates Degree; Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Three (3) years’ related workers compensation or related experience

Knowledgeable in all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to workers compensation

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to guide and direct members at all levels of the organization, with confidence

High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with some experience working with database systems and Power Point

Ability to work with confidential information in an appropriate manner

Ability to think analytically, logically and to make independent decisions and resolves issues inherent in handling claims

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, employees, TPA, carriers, claims handler and defense counsel
