Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Corporate Safety Director. Responsible for overseeing day-to-day safety practices in all MCC regions (Currently in Chicago, Nashville and Indianapolis). This position reports to the General Counsel and Risk Manager.

Responsibilities

Builds and Maintains internal and external relationships as relationships are MCC’s priority

Develops and implements workplace safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA standards.
Provides personnel with safety-related information such as training sessions, emergency protocols, and proper use of safety equipment.
Reviews existing policies and procedures to ensure they are up to date.
Oversees the company's daily operations and identifying opportunities for improvement of safety regulations.
Conducts risk assessments to minimize workplace accidents, occupational illnesses or long-term health hazards.
Prepares monthly or annual safety reports and presents the information to leadership
Analyzes all data relating to injuries and safety in order to create a predictive/proactive approach to injury prevention and reports trends and statistics to leadership
Responsible for creating an innovative safety culture and constantly driving improvement in safety performance while keeping productivity in mind.
Responsible for driving a learning and developing safety culture
Stays current with new technologies, equipment, PPE etc.. that can lead to improving MCC’s health and safety program
Responsible for boosting safety culture through coaching, training, programs, and incentives
Visits projects frequently to lead the safety team and ensure the work is being done to the highest degree of safety
High-Level oversite of safety equipment purchases

Build a team of, and lead project safety managers for MCC
  • Conduct Annual Reviews
  • Leads, inspires and motivates
  • Trains and mentors
Aids and assists project teams to develop site specific safety plans and procedures
Aids and assists project teams to troubleshoot potential problems and collaboratively comes up with the best possible solutions
Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local safety requirements
Review and ensure compliance with all-of MCC clients safety programs
Implement and maintain employee training programs and certifications
Establish and maintain company safety records
Works closely with Claims Manager on the following;
  • Injury Case management – The goal is quick and appropriate care of anyone injured, ultimately getting them the best care, returned to full health and work.
  • Communicate the status and any updates of injured workers with the field staf.
Assist project team with preparation of accident reports and follow up recommendations
Provide project teams with appropriate material for use in weekly Tool-Box talks

Qualifications

  • Environment Health and Safety (EHS) knowledge and experience
  • OSHA Certifications
  • Accident Investigation expertise
  • Training abilities
  • Construction Safety knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and on-site
  • 10 Years relevant experience in a Safety Management role, preferably in construction.
  • College degree preferred but not required.
