McGaw YMCA is Hiring a Town Run Driver Near Fremont, MI
The Town Run Driver supports Camp Echo operations by completing a wide range of tasks that require leaving camp, such as US mail, program supply purchases, supplemental kitchen restocks, and staff transportation. There are daily needs and opportunities to support additional operational and programmatic needs depending on interest and skill sets of Town Run Driver.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- In the morning, checks with appropriate persons to see if they have needs in town
- Drives camp vehicle to town for:
- Mail drop-off/pickup and purchase of stamps as needed
- Purchase of supplies, sundries, and other items at various locations
- Pickup of cash at the bank as needed
- Upon return to camp from town run:
- Delivers items to the persons who ordered them
- Delivers mail and packages to the designated location
- Sorts mail into mailboxes
- Sorts packages and leaves staff packages in designated location
- Fills out package slips for camper packages, places slips in mailboxes, and delivers packages to designated location
- Keeps a record of all purchases and submits receipts, broken down by category, to the Office Assistant.
- Makes entries as needed in the vehicle log books.
- May be asked to transport sick campers or staff to health clinics in Fremont, White Cloud, or Grant as needed.
- Supports staff transportation and onboarding such as, but not limited to: Arrival at local airports & train stations, social security office appointments in Muskegon, opening bank accounts, nights out, and personal errands.
- Attends vehicle safety sessions prior to driving any camp vehicle
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Age 21 or older
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Certified in CPR and First Aid
- Highly organized
- A commitment to working with a diverse staff and camper population for the fulfillment of YMCA goals
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
