McGaw YMCA is Hiring a Director of Annual Giving Near Evanston, IL
The Director of Annual Giving reports to the Chief Development Officer, providing strategic leadership in fund development to advance the McGaw YMCA's mission through annual giving, grants, and special events, and assists in public relations activities. Works to develop actively engaged staff and fundraising volunteers, and to position the Y as a "charity of choice" for the investment of donations within the local community.
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. It requires an individual with a deep commitment to diversity and inclusion, access, and equity.
Division of time will be:
- 60% Development and implementation of Annual Giving plan and strategies.
- 20% Manage a portfolio of donors.
- 10% Support Special Event execution, focusing on securing sponsorships as needed.
- 10% cross-departmental and organizational meetings.
Experience/Education/Certification Requirements/Requisite Computer Skills:
- A bachelor’s degree required.
- Five or more years of professional experience with a background in fundraising
- Ability to relate to top community leaders and diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Working knowledge of giving and charitable vehicles.
- Ability to create interpretive materials to enable potential donors to understand the YMCA and how they contribute to the achievement of its mission.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills with ability to produce creative and effective development and public relations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $67,356.00 - $87,195.00 per year
