The McGaw YMCA is a charitable non-profit organization that has promoted growth in spirit, mind, and body for all since 1885. We support approximately 20,000 members and program participants by focusing on three core areas: Youth Development, Health Living, and Social Responsibility. Our main facility supports health via two pools, the latest exercise equipment, 100 group exercise classes, and more. It also includes the Mens Residence, which provides affordable rental housing and supportive services. The McGaw YMCA provides countless ways to support the community through volunteer opportunitie...s. The McGaw YMCA particularly focuses on children and youth: - From infants to elementary school students, The Childrens Center serves 1,000 children annually with high-quality child care, pre-school, after-school, and summer and holiday camps; - Y Readers and Power Scholars is our free literacy, STEAM, and enrichment summer program designed to reverse summer learning loss for rising 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students; - Project SOAR, one of our longest and consistently successful youth programs, matches youth ages 9-14 with adult mentors creating life-changing relationships; - MetaMedia is our free digital media and technology center exclusively for middle-school youth with a focus on STEAM; - For struggling high school students, Y Achievers boosts confidence by providing academic support, mentoring, career exploration, and college tours - For youth of all ages, Camp Echo is our incredibly popular residence camp located in Michigan that creates more confident and caring young people.
