****Total Compensation Range Between $150,000 - $200,000****

About your role:
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Corporate Controller is the leader of our accounting team, offering strategic oversight and direction for all financial matters, including the analysis of senior sales and expenses across all departments. This role also involves coordination with department leaders to ensure profitability, while ensuring the Company’s financial condition is represented accurately, developing controls necessary for proper business conduct, maintaining precise records, and establishing as well as maintaining the data processing capabilities required to meet the Company’s objectives.

Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities
:
  • Cultivate and reinforce a positive, collaborative culture within the accounting department, emphasizing continuous learning, professional development, and a team-oriented approach to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Review all financial statements and ledgers and work with accounting staff to clear up any discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliant and timely regulatory/debt compliance financial reporting.
  • Develop best practices and lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process for all accounting areas.
  • Partner and work closely with our Controllers and Company Leadership on internal control matters to provide direction, implementation, and maintenance of effective, consistent, and efficient internal control policies, standards, and application.
  • Proactively communicate all applicable new accounting pronouncements to organizational leaders and provide a clear understanding of the potential financial impact and other proposed solutions
  • Ensure compliance with operational and income tax requirements.
  • Assist management in completing analysis and operational-related projects and participating in all potential acquisitions and divestitures, including due diligence and integration.
  • Assists with the annual Financial Statement Audit, 401k Audit, tax returns, and other compliance tasks.
  • Develop and mentor the accounting team with a focus on proactive communication to minimize surprises to maintain an effective partnership with cross-functional leaders.
  • Lead and manage treasury operations involving cash funds, capital allocation, debt, capital management, borrowing, and debt repayment.
  • Oversee and supervise the payroll department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with regulations, and effective management of payroll-related activities.
  • Supervise the Company's treasury operations, encompassing the management of cash flows, ensuring optimal liquidity for operational needs, and overseeing financial risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent is required.
  • Advanced Degree (MBA, MACC) is considered a plus.
  • Must have a solid demonstrated understanding of GAAP.
Type of Experience Needed to be Successful:
  • 10 years of accounting experience is required.
  • Experience in the Automotive field is strongly preferred.
  • CPA, Certification is required.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and events at one time is required.
  • Previous Automotive and experience in DMS (CDK or Tekion) software are considered a plus.

Specialized Skills
:
  • Expert understanding of accounting and GAAP reporting is a must.
  • Be able to demonstrate having a customer focus, strong business acumen, being able to instill a results-driven/solutions-oriented culture, and forward-leaning thought leadership that successfully devises strategies to address and face future challenges and needs.
  • Strong Leadership and Project Management Skills with the ability to drive and successfully execute initiatives with a demonstrated history of implementing innovative and compliant solutions.
  • Strong understanding of reconciliations and payroll processing.
  • Demonstrates a history of effective change management both within the organization and cross-functionally.
  • Proven ability to apply broad conceptual judgment and initiative to deal with complex accounting issues.

  • The work environment is a typical Automotive Retail Dealership environment. The employee must complete their work satisfactorily in an environment with significant distractions, including staff, clients, and vendors walking through and conversing, telephone ringing, conversations carrying over, loud noises, and interruptions to answer questions from others.
