Payroll Manager Essential Functions::
- Responsible for all payroll functions including salary, hourly, field service and field construction areas.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations and change of pay rates as well as payroll transactions including benefits updates, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices.
- Administers all 401(k) related functions including enrollment, processing, funding, and NDT reporting.
- Directs staff of 1-2 individuals.
- Collaborates with Human Resources and Accounting teams.
- Liaise with auditors and manages payroll tax audits.
- Establish a solid working relationship with all Union Business Managers.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required. Payroll Professional certification (i.e. CPP, CPM) is a plus.
- 5 years experience administering a multi-state payroll. Knowledge & experience with Vista/Trimble software a plus.
- Prior experience of implementing a new payroll system.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, mathematics, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Position is full-time Monday - Friday
