Civil litigation firm is seeking a full-time associate attorney in the firm's Kansas City office. Please submit a cover letter and resume.
Responsibilities for Civil Litigation Attorney:
- Represent clients in civil litigation cases, including discovery, depositions, trials, court hearings, and mediations
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies
- Draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Prepare and respond to discovery requests
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather information for case preparation
- Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution processes
- Attend court hearings and argue motions before judges
Skills for Civil Litigation Attorney:
- Strong legal drafting skills with the ability to write clear and concise legal documents
- Proficient in legal administrative tasks, such as managing deadlines and organizing case files
- Experience in litigating civil cases from inception to resolution
