May Ave Animal Hospital is excited to announce we are seeking to hire a motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We are driven to deliver excellent customer service and quality care for pets. We are a fast-growing practice and are looking to expand our staff. Our hospital is located in NW Oklahoma City area.
At MAAH, we recognize that our staff members are valuable assets to our practice. We are dedicated to the growth and development of every associate so they can enjoy their work and fulfill their goals.
We currently have 1 full-time Veterinarian/Owner, 1 part-time Veterinarian and 5 paraprofessional staff members. We are pleased to offer patients state-of-the-art equipment such as, in-house laboratory machines, digital radiology, dental scaler/polisher, multiparameter anesthesia monitoring equipment and use of a paperless practice management system.
We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8am-6pm, Wednesdays from 8am-2pm and Saturday 9am-12pm. We see a diverse caseload from illness, dental care and surgical cases but our main focus is strong preventative wellness care to help pets live healthier and longer lives.

- Able to stand for long periods
- Able to lift over 50 lbs
We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to assist the Veterinarian in delivering patient care, monitor anesthetic procedures and recovery of patients, administer medications, perform tasks such as nail trims, assist in radiographic imaging, fill and review medications for clients, restrain and position patients for treatments and educate clients on pet healthcare . As an Assistant, you will be a pivotal point of contact for our company, your interaction with clients and patients is crucial and allows the Veterinarian to perform their job duties with quality and efficiency. We are a small staffed clinic and some job duties for the front desk may be needed. You duties may extend to answering phones, scheduling appointments, answering client questions and receiving payments. You will help coordinate with the front-desk to ensure ease of scheduling for appointments, surgeries, drop offs and pick ups. To be successful as a Assistant, you should have a pleasant personality, as this is also a customer service role. You should be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining patient care operations. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position. This role may require working in shifts, so flexibility is a plus. Ultimately, an Assistant's duties and responsibilities are to ensure the client has a positive experience and thorough pet healthcare education and that patient care is delivered in a high quality and efficient manner. Experience is required, but each employee will go through a detailed and structured training program.
