As a Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in the growth of the company, using your technical background to turn data into actionable insights for both Maxwell employees and customers. This role is the perfect fit for someone interested in using their existing data and analytics skills to jump-start a career in Product Management. You will collaborate with stakeholders from across Marketing, Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success. This is a hybrid work environment, with the expectation of at least 2 days per week onsite at our headquarters in downtown Denver, CO.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING…

In your first 30 days, you will learn the key business objectives at Maxwell and gain a working knowledge of our existing data pipeline, warehouse, and tools. You will meet with internal stakeholders across multiple business units to understand what data they have access to today, how they use it, and why it is important. You will engage with our Data Engineering team to understand their process, join in team scrum activities, and shadow them as they fulfill internal and external data requests. You will become well versed in our existing data reporting structure, and form opinions on how it can be enhanced moving forward.

In your first 60 days, you will begin to manage and prioritize inbound requests for data and reporting across all areas of the organization. You will take ownership of reporting tools and organization. You will shadow members of the Product Management team as they interact with customers, break down product requirements, and apply industry knowledge and best practices across various business units. You will begin to form opinions on the best use of our data, and where we should invest in our data product(s).

In your first 90 days and beyond, you will move from taking input and requests to providing proactive analysis of the mortgage industry. Using everything you’ve learned so far, you will introduce new reporting concepts and analysis, using our data to deliver added value internally and externally. Your work will influence our product roadmaps, drive innovation for our customer-facing Maxwell Business Intelligence solution, and power the quarterly Maxwell Mortgage Lending Report.

• Partner with teammates in Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to understand, and predict, their data needs
• Maintain and prioritize a backlog of internal reporting requests, delivering answers using analysis from our data warehouse
• Manage the organizational structure of our existing Metabase reporting instance, building, sharing, and training on additional reports and dashboards as necessary
• Participate in discovery calls with lenders, users, and other subject matter experts to develop an understanding of their data requests and needs
• Supplement sales enablement and marketing materials with valuable insights using your data analysis 
• Identify key performance indicators for product success and track core metrics to measure and report the success of organizational initiatives

IDEALLY YOU’LL HAVE...

• 3 years as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or SaaS Product Manager with a track-record of delivering impactful solutions on a frequent basis
• Strong technical understanding with proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and analysis
• Demonstrated skills using a visualization and reporting suite to tell a story with data (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, ThoughtSpot, SiSense, Metabase, or Other)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly translate complex data analysis to non-technical audiences
• Experience with the lending, mortgages or fintech services industry is a bonus

OUR APPLICATION PROCESS

• A 30-minute interview with a member of the People Operations Team.
• A take-home exercise to demonstrate your SQL skills and data analysis expertise.
• A 30-minute interview with one or more members of our Data Engineering team.
• A 45-minute interview with the Maxwell Hiring Manager.

Compensation Range: $80,000 - $90,000
