Objective
We are expanding and seeking leaders who want to be responsible for leading a team to success. Great leadership is the second most important role of the GM with number one being hospitality. This role will require confidence, knowledge and ability to create the place everyone wants to work and dine at.
Role and Responsibilities
Your primary objective as General Manager is to create and maintain a “world-class” dining experience that enhances all of the fine points of the restaurant, while promoting the attitude, pride and cooperation of the staff for success. To achieve this objective your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
· Knowledge, management and promotion of all products and services of the restaurant
· Daily entry and price checking of invoices; responsible for inventory and labor assets
· Continued product knowledge and employee development of that knowledge within the restaurant
· Monitor and review the bar schedule and bar inventory ensuring policies are followed
· Responsible procurement and supply of products required to maintain the highest level of service
· You will be responsible for the financial leadership of the location which includes: forecasting, budgeting and responsibility for execution of the cost management programs designed for the restaurant. Part of this responsibility will include contributing to annual increases in sales and complementary reductions in costs. This will include the promotion and on-going training of service techniques designed to drive check average.
· Updating Toast, Teamworx and Netchef to organize the database and ensure coordinated listings in Toast.
· Accurate sales reporting of all products in Toast, confirming all products in the restaurant inventory are listed and available to the sales staff
· Define, measure and attain financial goals with the restaurant staff
· Adhere and see that consistent Max Hospitality operating procedures are being followed
· Lead, interview, train and develop employees
· Establish consistency with daily end of shift notes in Teamworx by management
· Communication with Manager of Operations on changes to the website to ensure accuracy
· Management of third-party delivery services and apps, reservation system Opentable for waitlist
· Daily social media posts (Instagram, Facebook, X, etc.) highlighting Max's and improving upon the image
· Handle and oversee the maintenance and repairs within the restaurant
· Research discrepancies regarding credit cards
· Knowledge of all health, safety and sanitation laws and guidelines; working with Culinary Director on areas of improvement
Additional duties of a general manager include:
· Handle and monitor guest complaints, working to resolve issue in the best interest of the guest
· Communicate information with clarity and detail
· New hire paperwork compliance with HR
· Ensure all new employee paperwork is completed and entered into Paycom, Toast and Crunchtime
· Handle disciplinary actions as necessary with supporting documentation
· Manage and submit weekly payroll in a timely manner (no later than Wednesday at 11am)
· Knowledge and management of P&L
· Handle and present forecasting for restaurant
· Schedule and lead weekly manager meetings
· Coordinate and be present at all special events
· Attend monthly/weekly Managing Partner meetings and/or calls
