SUMMARYUnder the direction of the Shop Supervisor, the incumbent repairs, services andmaintains engine driven Generators and electric welding machines and ensures asafe working environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. -Replaces defective parts and completes preventative maintenance required. -Orders parts as required in order to complete repairs. - Inspects returnedequipment for proper operation and/or damage by the customer. - Ensuresclean and organized work environment at all times. - Prepares and completespaperwork for all machine repairs, - Occasionally required to service equipmentand customers off-site. - Maintains communication with all branch personnel. -Occasionally advises customers regarding best equipment for their projects. -Performs troubleshooting of machines, calibrations on-site and off-site. - Knowledgeof computers, welding process, equipment set-up, welding gases, welding wires -Perform other projects and duties as assigned. EDUCATIONand/or EXPERIENCE - Post secondary education equivalent to a one year TechnicalCollege or equivalent is an asset. - Three years of related technicalexperience. - Working knowledge of positioning equipment, welding applicationand equipment is an asset. - Ability to make critical decisions while followingcompany procedures. - Ability to act proactively or find a solution with work-relatedproblems. - Ability to effectively build relationships with customers andco-workers. - Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions. -Ability to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities andbackgrounds. - Communicates with clarity, verbally in one on one or groupsituations, and over the telephone.
