We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to perform visual inspections on parts to ensure they meet customer requirements. The Quality Control Inspector will also be responsible for measuring and recording part features using metrology tools, cleaning parts for clean room packaging, and effectively communicating quality issues to production personnel. Additionally, this role requires updating jobs in the company's ERP system and actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives. A background in quartz, ceramic, and silicone manufacturing is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual inspections of parts to ensure they meet customer requirements and adhere to quality standards.
- Utilize manual measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, and dial indicators to measure and record part features accurately.
- Read blueprints and drawings proficiently, interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
- Clean parts prior to clean room packaging, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to established procedures.
- Communicate quality issues and concerns promptly and effectively to production personnel, enabling timely resolution.
- Update job-related information, inspection reports, and documentation accurately in the company's ERP system.
- Play an active role in continuous improvement efforts, suggesting and implementing enhancements to quality control processes.
- Collaborate with other areas of the Quality Department as needed, including tasks related to Acid and Ultrasonic tanks, laser scribing, cleanroom environment, and other QC activities.
- Maintain a variety of inspection reports, calibration records, and non-conforming material reports in an organized and systematic manner.
- Adhere to safety protocols, quality standards, and company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational education is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Quality Control Inspector or similar role.
- Proficiency in operating manual measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, and dial indicators.
- Strong ability to read blueprints and drawings, with a solid understanding of GD&T requirements.
- Familiarity with quartz, ceramic, and silicone manufacturing is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and a meticulous approach to work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and data entry is preferred.
- Willingness to work in various areas of the Quality Department and adapt to changing tasks.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and actively seeking opportunities to enhance quality control processes.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and address quality issues effectively.
