Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is seeking a highly motivated attorney to join her team as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Attorney General's Trial Division.
Primary Duties: Representation of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts concerning tobacco issues and in fast-paced national litigation against the tobacco industry. This will include a multi-state arbitration involving eight participating states over a contract claim valued in the tens of millions of dollars concerning complex contractual and statutory matters in an effort to protect money due to the Commonwealth. Additionally, this AAG may also represent the Commonwealth, its agencies, and employees in a wide variety of civil lawsuits, including tort, contract, erroneous convictions, eminent domain, employment, and civil rights cases, as time allows.
Position Type: Full-Time/Exempt
Salary: $78,586 to $117,879, commensurate with JD year and experience.

Job Qualifications:
Strong background in all aspects of civil litigation, including complex litigation and eDiscovery. Strong oral and written communication skills are also required. At least five years' relevant civil litigation experience preferred. Prior legal experience in at least one of the following substantive areas is preferred: tort, contracts, and commercial law. Seeking individuals who are highly motivated and who want to work in a fast- paced, high-volume, public-sector law office. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a connection to the people and communities we serve and an interest in supporting a respectful, diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment. Valid driver's license is required, as travel may be required to client and opposing party locations and law offices. Individual must be a member of the Massachusetts bar and the federal bar for the USDC of Massachusetts. Our current hybrid model includes some remote workdays for most positions.
