Assistant Attorney General Public Protection & Advocacy Bureau Insurance & Financial Services Division
The Attorney General's Office is looking for an Assistant Attorney General to work in the Insurance & Financial Services Division, which provides consumer assistance and enforces laws regarding insurance, investment, and lending issues, including a focus on post-secondary education, debt, and loan servicing.
Duties and Responsibilities: Evaluate insurance rate filings and engage in administrative rate litigation; the Assistant Attorney General will also undertake consumer protection investigations into financial services issues and pursue judgments in Superior Court, as needed. The position also involves policy development and assisting, as needed, with outreach and related mediations.
Position Type: Full-Time/Exempt
Salary: Salary is based on JD year and experience.

Job Qualifications:
JD from an accredited law school, bar admission required. Applicants with a strong work ethic and an interest in economic and social justice are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be highly motivated, intellectually curious, and able to quickly learn new and complicated subject areas. Attentiveness to detail is a must. Experience with insurance rate filings, including workers' compensation and private passenger auto insurance rate requests, is preferred. Familiarity with administrative rate litigation is helpful. The successful applicant will either have worked with actuarial concepts or have experience indicating their ability to do so. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Applicants must be comfortable working autonomously, but also as part of a team. We seek an highly motivated individual to work in the public interest. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a connection to the people and communities we serve, including historically marginalized communities, and an interest in supporting a respectful and inclusive work environment.
