The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) is seeking a dynamic, progressive leader focused on developing and executing a media relations strategy for MDOT MTA with the goal of publicizing MDOT MTA’s transit services (six modes including local bus, light rail, metro subway, commuter bus, MARC Train, and paratransit/Mobility), programs, and achievements in serving the citizens of Maryland.
The Director of Media Relations is responsible for engaging communications tools and practices to provide strategic oversight of MDOT MTA communications programs, executing media outreach and media events, developing crisis communications support as needed, and creating multi-media communications that positively position MDOT MTA and align closely with its marketing campaigns.
The Director of Media Relations serves in the capacity of Public Information Officer and official spokesperson for the agency and oversees the public affairs and broadcast team. The Director of Media Relations will also serve as host for the agency’s Commuter Connections show.
