Description
Marshall Farms is looking to add a Program Manager (Ferrets) to our Butler site facility.
The program Manager has overall responsibility of the Transgenic program as an agent of Marshall BioResources, being the main point of contact for the customer while overseeing safety, environment, quality, and production output of all transgenic activities. They are responsible for implementing standards to drive best practices and continuous improvement.
As a leader and manager, it is an expectation that they serve as a role model in exhibiting the behaviors and fostering development of integrity, excellence, teamwork, and accountability.
Duties and responsibilities:
Work Conditions & Special Requirements: Duties of this position are primarily performed Monday –Friday approximately 7:00AM to 3:30PM. Hours may periodically fluctuate; production area coverage is 24/7 with possible extended hours and weekend work. Conditions are climate dependent, with frequent animal contact. Work area requires PPE.
This position is a grade M3 with a range of $58,500-$79,958.36 annually (exempt).
Requirements
Education/ Experience: Minimum of 10 years’ experience ideally gained through increasingly responsible management positions, ideally in veterinary medicine or animal production.
Competency Requirements: Individual maintains a mastery skill level in all areas/functions that relate to Animal Behavior and Production, including formulating policy, developing, and implementing new strategies and procedures. Individual will maintain thorough product knowledge, full understanding of Animal Production, Marshall customer satisfaction philosophies, and procedures of the company. Individual is familiar with technical tasks and the organization and distribution of associated work activities. Individual is highly capable of motivating staff and deal effectively with performance issues. Individual will proficiently interact with cross-functional teams and possess good organizational skills and written and verbal communication skills. Individual keeps abreast with changes to the State & Local regulations as they relate to Animal Production.
Leadership Requirements: Individual will be expected to envision potential, foster enthusiasm and commitment in colleagues in departmental performance and institutional goals. They will have the ability to lead challenging personnel, foster an environment that encourages thoughtful initiative, ownership, and responsibility for actions. Individual will contribute to a productive and professional environment by setting a positive example and demonstrating enthusiasm, diligence, and ethical behavior and by taking responsibility for ones’ actions and challenging oneself to continually improve.
Mental Requirement: Minimum mental requirements necessary to perform key tasks of job to include but not limited to effective interpersonal communication, maintain attention to detail, comprehension (oral & written), understanding interrelationships between processes/activities, ability to forecast and anticipate consequences to actions, ability to coordinate activities logically, problem solving, maintain confidentiality, work with constant interruptions, stress, etc.
