ABOUT OUR RESORT

Marram Montauk is located on the beachfront property overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in the heart of Montauk. It features a sand-colored palette with 96 guestrooms, three quarters of which have ocean views. The rooms include flat-screen televisions and kitchenettes, with microwaves, stovetops, and minifridges. Complimentary yoga sessions are offered in the morning, and there is free Wi-Fi throughout the property. The hotel offers an on-site restaurant, boutique store, and a pool directly overlooking the beach. The restaurant Mostrador, helmed by renowned South American Chef Fernando Trocca offers a regularly changing counter of local seafood, vegetables, meats, and freshly baked goods that enable guests to indulge in the here and now. The property is a short walk, bicycle ride, or drive from downtown, as well as a few minutes from the Long Island Railroad Station.


ABOUT THE ROLE & WHAT WE OFFER

Reporting to the General Manager, the Sales Manager will work in the sales and marketing department. You will be responsible for networking with potential clients, managing large accounts, maintaining a loyal customer base, and driving hotel sales and marketing strategies. In this role, you will also be assisting with budgeting, forecasting, creating advertising campaigns, and other methods to meet or exceed stated revenue and room night goals. Essential Duties:

  • Able to identify, target, and set sales goals as needed.
  • Able to effectively communicate to team and management via in-person, writing, or emails.
  • Able to network to build and maintain professional relationships with clients.
  • Able to compile and analyze weekly and month end reports, review and implement action plans to address market share penetration.
  • Able to maintain files on major active accounts within the market segment.
  • Able to use repetitive hand and body motions such as grasp, writing, typing, listening, hearing, and visual acuity.
  • Role may require the ability to drive a motor vehicle, stand, walk, sit, talk, talk on a telephone or mobile device, carry a laptop (including while traveling), use a computer for a significant amount of time each day, to hear, and to occasionally lift to 20 lbs.


Specific Requirements of this role:

  • Establish and grow the hotel’s market share by developing and maintaining relationships with major groups and catering clients.
  • Plan sales trips, under the direct approval of the General Manager, to major marketing areas.
  • Identify new business leads by examining local market trends and competition activities and provide feedback to the Director of Sales.
  • Support management in preparing the department budget and the hotel’s overall sales goals and strategies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hotel management, business, marketing, or related field of work preferred,
    • or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • At least 2 years of hospitality sales and marketing experience.
  • Previous resort experience preferred.
  • Experience with property management systems and central reservation systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
