Market Express, based in Portland, Oregon, is a transportation company founded in July of 2016. We are predominantly a West Coast carrier with a focus on dry van freight, but we do offer refrigerated services as our customer demand requires.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Body Shop Repair Technician for our tractor shop. Seeking a person who will be responsible for providing full-service bodywork for our fleet in a safe and efficient manner that meets industry quality standards. We need someone who can provide high quality body, paint, fabrication, detail and collision work on Volvo and Freightliner tractors. We are seeking an individual who takes pride in their work and is very detail oriented.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

· Minimum 5 years’ experience with and proficiency in use of all tools of the trade such as welding equipment, plasma cutters, drills, sanders, die-grinders, impact wrenches, and jacks.

· Associate degree and/or formal education and training in collision repair and refinishing is a plus.

· Valid driver license and ability to meet insurance requirements.

· Must have own hand tools.

· Strong knowledge of medium and heavy-duty trucks and equipment.

· Strong knowledge of polyurethane paint coating systems.

· Ability to meet all physical requirements of the job in a safe and alert manner.

· Ability to consistently meet shop quality and efficiency standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Identify and determine parts required for repair, review repair orders, work orders and estimator’s notes.

· Follow warranty guidelines; notify Supervisor of any repair add-ons.

· Adjust, replace, and repair all series of truck and trailer equipment such as sheet metal repairs, fiberglass/SMC panel repairs, fabrication and structural welding, installation and alignment of truck cab body components, electrical and mechanical repairs, etc.

· Prep and finish vehicles with two stage paint systems.

· Follow all state and federal vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards. Follow company policies, procedures, and safety and EPA regulations. Must use all safety equipment necessary for the job. Maintain current knowledge of job and technical skills and truck manufacturer’s repair process.

Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
