The Warehouse / Shop Technician is an important part of our warehouse team. There are a few primary responsibilities of this position. Using carpentry skills for window trim installation and mulling of windows together, as well as learning new skills is essential. This position will be performing other warehouse-related tasks as assigned/needed throughout the day when no shop work is needed. These duties include helping stage product and materials for installs, unload deliveries, organize materials and consumables, general cleaning, Lean learning and activities, and other warehouse-related tasks. This position is 70% warehouse associate and 30% shop technician. A great position for an energetic & organized self-starter. $23 - $24 per hour.

All applicants:

Must be at least 21 years of age to drive certain rental vehicles.

Must have a valid and unrestricted driver's license, and an acceptable driving record from the State Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Possess a smart phone for navigation and communication.

Employment contingent on passing drug screen, background check and Motor Vehicle Record screen.

Primary Duties:

The warehouse / Shop Technician is responsible for performing the following position-specific duties using established procedures:

Own and track the progress of all shop work needs:

Monitor shop work needed on windows using a web-based system.

Applying/Installing Brickmould trim to windows.

Mulling windows together – Jointing together using various materials.

Fabricating arch trims from Breckenridge plywood for metal flashing

Minor window repair.

General cleaning & organization

Lean Projects and activities

Other duties as assigned:

Drive company vehicles to pick up and deliver materials to job sites for crews (site runs).

Lots of physical activity/lifting, bending, etc.

Servicing the installation crews as they prepare to depart.

Using forklift (training and certification provided)

General warehouse clean up and tidying up of boxes, pallets, etc.

Follow OSHA safety regulations.

Learn and apply Lean Principals and do Lean projects.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1 or more years of warehouse experience

1 or more years of basic carpentry work.

Lite Carpentry, finish carpentry skills

Comfortable knowledge of power tools such as:

Chop saws, grinders, table saws, Dremel, jigsaws etc.

Construction materials knowledge

Safety conscious and aware of surroundings

Measure product dimensions

Carpenter’s math: fractions, reading tape measures, quantity counting.

Customer Service orientation

Installers are the Warehouse’s primary “customers.” The goal as a team is to set up Installation Crews for success and provide them the on-site support they need.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to repeatedly lift 50-75 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks associated with construction.

Able to move, rotate and safely move windows around on a worktable.

Lift and maneuver windows with help.
