Mariposa Center For Safety is Hiring a Victim Services Supervisor (Shelter Services) Near Pueblo, CO

Objective: Strive to fulfill the mission of Mariposa Center for Safety every aspect of the position.

Reports to: Mariposa Program Director

Function: Oversee day to day operations for emergency shelter and non-residential programs

Status: Exempt/Essential

As a Victims Services Supervisor for Mariposa Center for Safety you would play a central role in helping our clients access services and resources and take the next steps to wellness. You would use your skills to assist clients in managing and overcoming their difficulties to improve day-to-day functioning, support other members of the treatment team, and collaborate with professionals within and outside our agency to assure that clients receive the very best care.

Specifically, the Victims Services Supervisor will:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations for shelter and non-residential services (as needed),
  • Provide supervision to staff and interns to include completing performance evaluations and performance improvement plans when needed,
  • Conduct case reviews as needed with staff,
  • Assist in the hiring process and overseeing/assisting with new employee training,
  • Responsible for maintaining the staffing schedule/payroll and ensuring that the shelter is staffed 24/7,
  • Responsible for completing reporting requirements for grants and department updates,
  • May at times provide direct client care services including scheduling or providing transportation assistance, case management services, implementing behavior plans or breach of shelter guidelines, submitting referrals.
  • Submit orders to ensure programs are sufficiently stocked in all supplies needed for client care,
  • Assist clients in identifying coping mechanisms and natural supports that may be available,
  • Enhances client problem-solving skills, independent living skills, and socialization skills,
  • Perform intake/exit interviews, answer the crisis hotline.
  • Maintains competency and proficiency in Domestic Violence training (will complete 15 hours of training each year),
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation and data for monthly and quarterly reports,
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for after hours, weekends and holidays,
  • When appropriate, attend and participate in agency or community meetings to address and support victims under our care,
  • May at times assist with providing community-based trainings to interested parties as it relates to domestic violence, healthy relationships or other behavioral health topics as requested,
  • Assist with the internal training/on-boarding requirements for new and current staff,
  • Performs other job-related duties assigned by the director or his/her designee.

Physical requirements include the following:

  • Requires standing, sitting, driving, and walking for prolonged periods of time
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items up to 20 pounds
  • Requires working under stress in emergency situations
  • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record data electronically and communicate with clients
  • Requires occasional driving in adverse weather conditions
  • Requires frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred), Associates degree with a minimum 2 years’ experience working with individuals in a human service-related field and 2-5 years experience in supervision.
  • Computer proficiency
  • Colorado driver's license, a good driving record and transportation.
