Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Applies a standard body of Human Resources knowledge, rules, and procedures to perform technical support work for Child & Youth Programs in the areas of staffing, benefits, and background checks. Assignments include but are not limited to: keying new hires, providing information on and processing benefits, conducting employee benefits briefs for new and departing employees, employee out-processing, gathering facts involving routine HR work in the above specialty areas, initiating suitability adjudications, coordinating physicals and drug tests, and processing personnel actions. Reviews HR and organizational documents for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state and organizational legal and policy requirements. May assist in writing, revising, updating, and preparing personnel procedures and directives, special reports and correspondence.
Processes and maintains background check information and renewals in accordance with children and youth policy. Serves point of contact for all positions requiring a childcare background check, to include coordinating random drug testing if required. Plans and hosts job fairs and hiring events.
Generates standard reports as needed and on a scheduled basis. Develops databases and spreadsheets to automate office procedures. Makes recommendations for systems solutions and process improvements to eliminate manual processing, ensure data accuracy and improve reporting methods.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
Performs other related duties as assigned. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in a Human Resources Department, Business Office or equivalent required. High School Diploma or GED required.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely over the phone and in person. Ability to analyze and solve problems, use sound judgement, critically and creatively think, organize and plan. Ability to prioritize tasks, escalating issues if needed. Ability to work independently, while functioning as part of a team. Must have the ability to listen and understand information presented, interacting well with others and with a diverse audience. Must have the ability to use considerable discretion, judgement and confidentiality.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality within the HR department.
This position is designated as Noncritical Sensitive and therefore requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of the security investigation.
