Essential Job Functions (as dictated per Counselor or Admin Support role):

• Maintains accurate surgical records for surgeons as outlined in company standards and guidelines.
• Maintain communication with Surgical Vision Coordinators, MEC Surgeons and their teams.
• Maintains 5% or less error rate on chart documentation and scanning.
• Adheres to the Protocol “Adding and retrieving surgical items from EMA”
• Advises supervisor of any changes or discrepancies in the protocol “Adding and retrieving surgical items from EMA”
• Proper Building of surgical charts.
• Properly manage time to avoid any unauthorized overtime.
• Cross train with Surgical Front Desk Team to prepare for time off and provide coverage as needed for teammates.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
• Attends required meetings.
• Ability to speak, understand and write fluent English
• Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling and punctuation
• Proficiency in alphabetizing and spelling
• Ability to write legibly
• Ability to calculate mathematical formulas.
• Reviews appropriate reports on a regular basis as outlined in company standards and guidelines.
• Does not engage in gossip, and non-productive behavior as outlined in the company handbook

Minimum Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

Minimum Background Requirements

• Two years previous experience or training in this or similar position in a medical practice.
• College degree desired, but not required

• Proficiency on a PC
• Proficiency using a photocopier
• Proficiency handling multiple telephone lines
• Proficiency using a Scanner
