The Assistant Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining the needs of the store, customers, and employees. The position is responsible for the various tasks involved in the overall operation of the store, including maximizing sales/profitability by developing staff and by monitoring inventory levels.
- Ensures each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a customer-friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging customers, possessing and providing solid product knowledge, answering questions, obtaining merchandise requested, completing payment transactions, and all other components of customer service.
- Promotes sales by demonstrating merchandise and products to customers
- Identifies and investigates customer complaints and service suggestions; reports issues to General Manager as needed.
- Implements and maintains customer service standards among staff.
- Maintains staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; plans, monitors, and appraises job results by completing and administering 60 Day and/or annual performance reviews
- Leads staff by using constructive and consistent feedback to reinforce positive behavior and performance
- Documents all employee issues using the appropriate system, form, and/or procedure.
- Works with Store Manager to make employment and termination decisions including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and disciplining personnel when appropriate
- Achieves financial objectives by scheduling expenditures through the monthly budget
- Maintains inventory by checking merchandise to determine inventory levels; anticipating customer demand. Communicates with appropriate staff members if product inventory levels need to be increased or decreased.
- Maintains adherence to all company policies and procedures
- Performs any other duties as assigned by General Manager and Store Manager.
