Job Title Skilled Maintenance Mechanic Requisition JR000013744 Skilled Maintenance Mechanic (Open) Location Greenville, IL (Pharma) - USA034 Additional Locations Greenville, IL Job Description The Maintenance Mechanics assigned to the Greenville, IL Plant will perform the maintenance activities associated with the upkeep, repair/replacement of all manufacturing equipment and grounds. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Repairs and maintenance to physical structures using hand and power tools Repairs to drywall, wood, masonry and steel structures. Repair and maintain plant structure and equipment. Repairs on all piping, drains, air handling and HVAC equipment. Perform mig, tig, stick and silver soldier welds. Operate plasma and oxy./act. torch cutting Make repairs to tools and equipment. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment. Perform housekeeping duties to assure that work areas are neat and clean. Follow all safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Participate and support the site’s safety and quality programs/policies. Apply knowledge of electronic, electrical circuits. Trace circuits, interpret wiring schematics. Understand boiler water chemistry. Able to use handheld test instruments to calibrate critical process instruments. Work overtime when necessary to complete job duties. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Two-year certification in an industrial maintenance field or 5 years' experience in industrial maintenance field Must pass qualification testing. Experience: Good mechanical aptitude is required. Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Must complete all tasks in a professional manner. Must have good oral and written communication skills. Skills/Competencies: Willingness to attend training classes to acquire knowledge necessary to perform job duties. Other information: Unionized facility. Hourly rate: $29.74. 2nd or 3rd shift. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE: This position will report to the Maintenance Supervisor. PHYSICAL/VISUAL ACTIVITIES OR DEMANDS: Approximately 100% of time will be spent in the production/maintenance environment. The job involves sitting, walking, standing, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting objects up to 40 pounds. The job involves clarity of vision at 20 inches or less with the ability to bring objects into sharp focus. May need the ability to identify and distinguish colors. Flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention much or all of the time. May have exposure to chemicals including acids, bases, organic solvents and inorganic compounds. Chemicals may have characteristic odors or hazardous properties that require special handling. May require wearing a respirator or dust mask. All candidates will have an annual physical including a respirator fit that requires the employee to be clean shaven. WORKING CONDITIONS: This position will spend approximately 100% of their time in a production environment handling material.
