Makoto Dressing, Inc. has been in the food manufacturing business. We are very proud to have maintained a reputation for producing high quality salad dressing and sauces for over 20 years. We are currently seeking a Food Safety and Quality Assurance Assistant in Melbourne, Florida.

This position will be responsible for assisting in overseeing the daily operations of the sanitation and processing crews, as well as all QA for processing. This individual will assist in the development and maintaining systems to ensure compliance to all Food Safety Standards, and will assist in the responsibility for all Document Control and Records.

The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership with an emphasis on continuous process improvement and product quality. There will be internal and external training made available to the candidate.

• Strong organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

• Knowledge of food safety and HACCP principles is a plus
• HACCP certification is a plus
• Prior experience in food manufacturing environment is a plus

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Assist in monitoring and updating existing HACCP, SOP, AND QA programs, procedures, and document control programs
• Implement quality assurance programs that effectively monitor product manufacturing in compliance with GMP’s, SOP’s, and HACCP
• Assist with inspection, and audit programs
• Manage Random Microbiological testing on equipment and product
• Maintain a “floor presence” as an auditor of quality throughout the processing facility
• Ensure maintenance and sanitation of the facility is in compliance with food safety requirements
• Collaborates with colleagues in Supply Chain, Operations, and Quality functions to continually improve capability and process efficiency
