Major Food Brand is Hiring a Banquet Chef Near New York, NY

Major Food Group (the powerhouse restaurant group behind Carbone, THE GRILL, Sadelle’s and more) is looking to continue building on their multi-dimensional, immersive concepts that transports their guests to new memorable experiences. We want to transcend traditional hospitality models by taking care of our employees, guests, and our community.

We are hiring an experienced Banquet Chef with strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen safety and sanitation, effective time management and quality control. This role is primarily stationed at 375 Park (TheGrill/The Pool) but also includes offsite events as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Menu development and recipe build out
  • Executes all catering and banquet production for MFG
  • Assist in the menu creation and makes recommendations as needed
  • Supervises activities of assigned staff, communicate goals, and assign/schedule work to ensure proper coverage
  • Responsible for coordinating menus, purchasing, scheduling, food preparation and plating for catering events
  • Maintains complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards
  • Responsible for delivering a consistent, high quality product for all events and functions
  • Inspect the cleanliness of the line, floor, and all Kitchen stations
  • Able to handle guest requests in a detailed manner

Requirements:

  • At least 4 years of experience in high volume and fine dining restaurants.
  • Experience in multi unit/catering and banquets preferred
  • Previous experience in Michelin-starred (1, 2, or 3) and/or NY Times (2 or more stars) is preferred.
  • This position requires a flexible schedule and weekends are necessary. 
  • There will be a variable working schedule but it will be a full time working schedule
  •  Have excellent communication and organization skills.
