The Barbara Bush Childrens Hospital Philanthropy Manager organizes and directs events and other fundraising initiatives that support the mission of Maines only fully accredited childrens hospital. The manager works closely with hospital leadership, volunteers, corporate sponsors, and community organizations on a wide variety of Philanthropy led and third-party fundraising activities. Position responsibilities include event management and implementation, direct solicitation of individuals and businesses, oral and written presentations, and budget oversight. - Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Bachelor's Degree and continuous professional development in philanthropy and/or any related fields.
- License/Certifications: CFRE preferred.
- Experience: Previous philanthropy experience in a non profit environment at a level normally acquired with five to seven years' experience, including direct gift procurement, or experience in a closely related field, including donor and volunteer relations.
- Excellent communication, writing, research, and public speaking skills required.
- Advanced interpersonal skills required to negotiate and work effectively with a variety of potential donors on complex and sensitive issues, including volunteer management.
- Ability to assess donor capacity and intent and strategize donor stewardship and cultivation activities which will lead to donations and event sponsorships.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for solicitation, event management and donor and volunteer meetings.
