ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Exhibit passion for teaching elementary students (grades K-5), and commitment to helping all students learn at a high level.
Work with students in small groups and in-class support in reading and math.
Contribute to a school culture of appreciation, collegiality and innovation.
Use exceptional communication and collaboration skills, including with families.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of emergent and primary Literacy and Mathematics instruction and intervention, and the commitment to keep learning.
Support non-instructional duties.
All other non-teaching duties, per Teacher’s Contract.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Elementary Education. Background in reading and math preferred.
State of Maine Department of Education Teacher Certification in General Elementary or Early Elementary.
Knowledge of Title I Guidelines for compliance in services and paperwork.
Experience teaching components of balanced literacy, early numeracy, and Marzano’s elements of effective teaching practice highly preferred.
